Baltic-Eurasia Inter Parliamentary Training Institute
In Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, IRI, through the Baltic Eurasia Inter-Parliamentary Institute (BEIPTI), is supporting democratic gains and a move toward Western economic, government, and legal frameworks.
Since its inception in 2006, IRI has worked closely with the Lithuanian Seimas, or Parliament, beginning with a parliamentary exchange program in Eurasia that took advantage of Lithuania’s democratic development and its shared past with the region. Over 500 elected officials and staff members from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine joined parliamentary assessments, exchanges, and training programs designed to share new ideas and best practices. BEIPTI’s most recent programs incorporate technical experts and civil servants from key Lithuanian ministries to “deep dive” on important policy areas and better prepare partner parliaments to move forward with concrete and lasting legislative reforms.
